Backyard Fire Pits Are Relaxing
We live in a fast pace world where new products are geared towards producing faster results. A backyard fire pit is just the answer to the stress and strain of daily life.
Have you really listened to any advertisements on the radio or television? If you have you will realize the number of times words like faster, quicker, speedier come up. People want faster internet access, faster service at stores and businesses, faster everything. Come on, we even eat fast food or use the microwave to prepare foods faster at home. Doesn’t that tell you something about our society?
Over the past few years my wife and I have noticed a trend where people are trying to slow the fast pace down to a manageable level. They want to step back from the hectic fast paced lives they lead and spend more of that time with their family and friends. That is exactly what we decided we needed back in our lives. I started to do some searches online to see what was available in the way of backyard fire pits.

On the web I found quite a selection. To say I was impressed was an understatement. I found everything from basic open top steel pits, to copper, stainless steel and designer ones as well as gas fired pits. Copper fire pits seem to be really popular right now judging by my local home centers . I kind of like the hammered copper look of the Cobraco Fb6132 fire pit. It is distinctive. I can see why they are popular. Many of these firepits come with grills or grating. That is nice if you like to cook on an open flame like a friend of mine does. Helps to impress your guests too!
Another type caught my eye. It was in a sky theme. It has simple cutouts on the sides in the shape of stars and the moon to allow air to flow as it is pretty deep. the Landmann Ball Of Fire. It is a funky shaped firepit made out of steel. One nice thing about this one is that it has a large pivoting door so that you don’t have to lift the lid to add firewood. Less chance that sparks will escape.
A backyard fire pit without a doubt is great place to slow down, relax and get back in touch with your family and yourself. Nothing beats sitting in the great outdoors at night with a hot cup of cocoa enjoying a warm, crackling fire.
Fire pits also have a way of drawing others. The first night that we had ours, we were sitting in the backyard by the fire pit when our next door neighbors came by to see what was up. They sat down and visited for a few hours. A few nights later I was putting wood in the pit to prepare for another fire. Our neighbor yelled across the yard that she had made a batch of cookies and would be willing to share them if we would share our fire. Well of course I had to say yes. Who can pass up homemade cookies?
Having an outdoor fire pit has been a relaxing addition to our home. It is nicer to sit in the great outdoors,making small talk with your loved ones and thinking about the good things in your life than being cooped up inside watching television.
